About Danny Nuttall – Integrative Therapist
I’m Danny Nuttall – a qualified Hypnotherapist, CBT practitioner, and certified BWRT and Brainspotting therapist with over 15 years of experience in integrative therapeutic practice. I work exclusively online, with clients across the whole of the UK.
I came to the therapies I use today not just through training, but through personal experience. That shapes everything about how I work.
My Background
My journey into therapy began in 2005 when I qualified in Hypnotherapy and Hypnoanalysis through The Hypnotherapy Control Board. Over the years that followed I accumulated further training across a range of evidence-based approaches – always drawn towards methods that work at a deeper level than symptom management alone.
In 2019 I went through a mental breakdown following a diagnosis of Complex PTSD. I know what it’s like when the standard approaches don’t touch it – and I know what it feels like when something finally does. That experience brought me to BWRT, which I completed at Level 1 in 2020 and Level 2 in 2021, and to Brainspotting, which I am certified in at Levels 1 and 2.
These are now the therapies at the heart of my practice – not because they’re fashionable, but because I’ve seen what they can do, from both sides of the therapeutic relationship.

How I Work
I take a genuinely integrative approach – which means I don’t apply a one-size-fits-all protocol to every client. I listen carefully, work collaboratively, and draw on whichever combination of approaches is most likely to be effective for the specific person in front of me.
At the heart of my practice are two therapies I believe in deeply:
BWRT (Brain Working Recursive Therapy) works in the gap between a trigger and conscious awareness – rewiring automatic emotional responses at source, before they’ve had a chance to fully form. It’s fast, precise, and requires no detailed disclosure of what you’ve been through.
Brainspotting works more broadly – using specific eye positions to access the deeper brain and nervous system, where trauma and emotional pain are stored. It processes and releases what talk therapy often can’t reach.
Used together – which I frequently do – they address both the surface response and the deeper root. Many clients find this combination moves things that nothing else has shifted.
I work from a person-centred foundation. That means your pace, your priorities, and your sense of safety always come first. Nothing happens without your full agreement, and you’re in control of what we explore and when.
Areas of Specialism
Over the course of my practice I’ve developed particular depth of experience in:
- Trauma and PTSD – including complex, developmental and relationship trauma
- Anxiety, panic attacks and generalised stress
- Emetophobia – fear of being sick (one of my longest-standing areas of specialism)
- Phobias of all kinds
- ADHD-related emotional patterns and dysregulation
- Low self-worth, shame and persistent self-doubt
- Grief, loss and life transitions
- Feeling stuck – the sense that understanding hasn’t been enough to create change
If you’re not sure whether your situation falls within what I work with, the best thing to do is get in touch. I’ll give you an honest answer.
Working Online
I work exclusively via video call, with clients across the whole of the UK. In my experience – and the experience of my clients – online therapy is just as effective as in-person work for the approaches I use. BWRT and Brainspotting both work with internal mental processes, which means the video format suits them well.
Many clients find that being in their own environment actually supports the work – there’s no travel, no waiting room, and you’re somewhere familiar and comfortable from the moment we begin.
All you need is a device, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet private space.
A Note on Availability
I work with a deliberately small number of clients at any one time. This isn’t a limitation – it’s a choice. Doing this work well requires full attention and genuine commitment to each person, and I’m not willing to compromise on that.
If I’m currently fully booked, I keep a short waiting list. If you’d like to be added, please get in touch and I’ll give you an honest timeframe.
Ready to Find Out More?
The first step is always a free, no-obligation consultation. We’ll talk about what you’re experiencing, I’ll explain how I work, and we can decide together whether going ahead feels right. No pressure, no commitment – just an honest conversation.
